WEEK 5 MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

WEEK 5 MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

This evening at FedEx Field the Washington Redskins will be hosting Monday Night football action as the team welcomes the top NFL regular season team; the Seattle Seahawks.

Over the past two weeks, the Redskins have not been very lucky losing two straight games to football powerhouses like: the Texans, the Eagles, the NY Giants.

Washington is definitely looking to pull a victory over the Seahawks, but there are still some players who will not make it for this evening’s game as it is the case of Tight end Jordan Reed who will miss a 4th consecutive game as he waits for his strained right hamstring to fully heal.

Washington is 10th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed; the team allows 4.5 yards per run on average. In a blowout win against the Jacksonville Jaguars, arguably the worst team in the NFL, Washington allowed Jags running back Toby Gerhart to run for eight yards — on seven carries.

On the other hand, despite nursing a right knee injury all week Trent Williams will be present at the game against the Seahawks. Washington’s other inactives included wide receiver Santana Moss (a healthy scratch for the fifth straight game), cornerback Tracy Porter (hamstring), quarterback Robert Griffin III (ankle), cornerback Richard Crawford, guard Spencer Long and safety Trenton Robinson (ankle). source: http://www.washingtonpost.com/

Furthermore, Seattle flies across the country for a battle between two quarterbacks from the 2012 NFL draft. The heralded Robert Griffin III sits idly by after yet another damning injury to his lower extremities, leaving the door open for the matchup of Kirk Cousins and Russell Wilson. Seattle Seahawks have won two out of three NFL regular season games and are looking pretty sharp.

Seattle’s inactives: corner Tharold Simon, running back Christine Michael, linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis, tackle Alvin Baily, receiver Kevin Norwood, tight end Zach Miller and defensive end Greg Scruggs.

The most recent betting odds for this evening’s game stand at:

Seattle Seahawks   -7   45.5o

Washington Redskins    +7   45.5u
