This weekend the Patriots welcome the NY Jets at the Gillette Stadium for a very interesting clash of Eastern NFL franchises. During the present NFL regular season, New England has managed to win four out of six games so far despite several unexpected injuries the team has had faced.
The Patriots have not commented on the extent of the injuries, but multiple sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that Mayo’s injury to his right knee “is bad.” Here is a quick video on the latest news on the Patriots
This is a short week for the Patriots to prepare and engage for the upcoming game versus New York and on top of the limited time for practice, Thursday night’s forecast calls for periods of heavy rain in the Foxborough, Massachusetts area which is expected to continue from scheduled kickoff at 8:25 p.m. through the night.
Furthermore, New England Coach Bill Belichick was asked this afternoon whether the team would look to make roster moves in the two days leading up to Thursday night’s game against the Jets and this is what he had to say about it:
“I think it’s something we are just going to have to evaluate here in [the] next day or two,” Belichick said at a news conference Tuesday. “I will talk with Nick Caserio and our coaching staff and Nick’s staff and we will just have to try to figure it all out here. It’s a real short week. So, I’ll have to take all of those things into consideration and try to figure out what would do, if we would make one, who would it be and so forth. Haven’t decided that yet and we will see how it goes here.”
On the other hand, the New York Jets´ terrible losing streak has everyone at the edge of their seats after five consecutive losses to the Packers, the Bears, the Lions, the Chargers, and the Broncos. And so far, the Jets hold one of the worst records in the NFL.
The Jets are in desperate need of a turnaround, and there’s no better way to do that than beat their biggest rival on the road on prime-time television. New York’s season will undoubtedly be over with a loss this Thursday, so expect the Jets to give Tom Brady and Co. everything they have.
The most recent betting odds for Thursday night game stand at:
NY Jets +10.5 45o
New England Patriots -10.5 45u
