WEEK 8 New Orleans Saints

WEEK 8 New Orleans Saints

source: NFL

On Sunday night the NFL action wraps up at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans as the Green Bay Packers face off the Saints.

The host, New Orleans´regular season has not been exactly what we had imagine for this 2014-15 season. So far,  they hold a record of 4 -2 losing to football franchises like: the Falcons, the Browns, the Cowboys and their most recent loss to the Lions.

On the other hand, the Packers have been doing extremely well and currently hold a winning streak of a total of four games. And the team looks in pretty good shape for Sunday´s evening meeting.

Even so, the Saints have won 13 consecutive home night games, last losing to the Dallas Cowboys on Dec. 19, 2009. The Saints have won the last 10 primetime home games by an average of 23 points. But Saints coach Sean Payton said there are no significant changes made during the week of practice prior to a night game.

“We alter a few things when we’re playing a night game — the meeting schedules the weekend prior, a few little things we’ll tweak,” Payton said. “The key is in the practices, the film study, the rest, the hydration, some of the things (players) try to pay attention to.”

Expected by many to win the division, New Orleans has been a mess. The Saints have struggled to stop opposing offenses, exhibited in their 24-23 loss to the Lions on Sunday. Detroit trailed 23-10 in the last five minutes before storming back with 14 unanswered points. The secondary has gotten torched to the tune of 270.5 yards per game, 28th in the league.

Green Bay seems like a bad matchup for New Orleans, coming to town with Aaron Rodgers at the helm. Rodgers has been playing brilliant football during the Packers’ four-game winning streak, throwing 13 touchdowns without an interception. For the season, Rodgers has a TD-INT ratio of 18-1, the best start for a quarterback in NFL history.

The latest betting odds for Sunday´s evening game stand at:

New Orleans Saints  -2.5   54.5u
