The 2014 ATP World Tour Finals will be taking place this year from the 9th through the 16th of November at the O2 arena in the city of London, England.

The 45th edition of the tournament will be a very special one as the top ATP tour 8 seeded players will be the ones participating in this tournament round-robin format. So far the first players to qualify are:

# Players Points Tours Date Qualified
1 Novak Djokovic (SRB) 7,430 11 7 July[4]
inj Rafael Nadal (ESP) 6,645 12 14 July[5]
2 Roger Federer (SUI) 6,160 13 18 August
3 Stan Wawrinka (SUI) 4,805 15 13 October
4 Marin Cilic (CRO) 3,990 17 18 October

While the remaining three spots will be decided after the current Indoors BNP Paribas Tournament in Paris. The battle between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer for year-end No. 1 continues next week at the BNP Paribas Masters, where players will be bidding to clinch the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title and, potentially, a spot at next month’s Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.

Federer, who has compiled an ATP World Tour-best 64-10 match record this year, will be aiming to contest his sixth ATP World Tour Masters 1000 final of the season. The 33 year old picked up the Western & Southern Open and Shanghai Rolex Masters crowns and is attempting to capture his 24th ATP World Tour Masters 1000 crown and add to his 2011 Paris title.

On the other hand, Djokovic has won 19 ATP World Tour Masters 1000 trophies, including three this year at the BNP Paribas Open, the Miami Open presented by Itau and the Internazionali BNL d’Italia. He is just five match wins shy of 600 career victories, a mark he would reach should he lift his third title in the French capital and 47th overall. source: http://www.atpworldtour.com/
