The 2014-2015 NFL preseason is just around the corner and as we get closer to the awaited start, there are many interesting things going on and news on the board. For example, the NFL has recently released the hiring of 12 new officials including the services of two professional females and their names are:  Sarah Thomas and Maia Chaka.

“The long-term goal is to develop a pipeline of female officials,” Blandino said. “Diversity is very important.”

“Once an official is in that group, that’s really make-or-break. You’re either going to come into the league or finish your career in college,” NFL’s vice president of officiating Dean Blandino said.

This is definitely breaking news as for next year both Thomas and Chaka they could be eligible for regular-season NFL games.

On the other hand, the most recent NFL football injuries report include teams like: Cincinnati Bengals with two players reported injured. Leon Hall who is recovering from an Achilles and is expected to be able to play Week 1 against the Ravens and Clint Boling who is also is recovering from a torn ACL and is questionable for Week 1 against the Ravens.

Regarding the Cleveland Browns there are reports on Travis Benjamin who is recovering from ACL surgery and is questionable for Week 1’s match up against the Steelers and Josh Gordon who is facing a possible season long suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy for the second time.

Furthermore, Dallas Cowboys Sean Lee suffered a torn ACL during OTA’s and is expected to miss the entire season. While at the Green Bay Packers home there is no report of injuries so far.

Jacksonville Jaguars Roy Miller is also recovering from a shoulder injury and is questionable for Week 1 against the Eagles and quarterback Aaron Colvin recovers from a torn ACL and is not expected to play in the 2014-2015 season.
