The 95th edition of the NFL regular season will kick off on September 4 and it is expected to end on December 28, 2014, resuming with the NFL playoffs on January 3, 2015. And the pinnacle of the season will take place on February 1st in Arizona with Super Bowl XLIX.

In each football league, most if not all 32 teams training camps will be held during late July and early August. These practices are preps to spot amateur and professional players´ weaknesses and assessments and review their overall performances which will define their roster position in each team for the season.

For the upcoming season there are a few training camps to keep an eye on, so is the case of the NFC EAST which last season was one of the most disappointing divisions without a doubt. The Philadelphia Eagles training camp battle will be between three players: Trent Cole, Brandon Graham and Marcus Smith.

For the past nine years, Cole has been a fixture on the Eagles front and one of the most consistent pass-rushers in the league but for the last two years he has become slower and his starting position is in jeopardy. Graham and Smith might become his replacement in a near future.

And let´s not forget the quarterback backup position battle between Mark Sanchez and Matt Barkley. Sanchez missed all of last season with a shoulder injury so Coach Chip Kelly took Barkley in, but he struggled at most of the games so it is like Sanchez will try to hold off Barkley for the No. 2 spot.

On the other hand, the Dallas Cowboys training camp has a real question mark as the team requires urgently a middle linebacker. The key battle at training camp will be between Justin Durant and Anthony Hitchens, but it is likely the Cowboys will keep Durant despite a general concern on his pass-coverage skills.

Lastly, but not least important is the Washington Redskins training camp battle to define who the next right tackle will be. The top two names on the board are: Tyler Polumbus and Morgan Moses. The predicted outcome favors Tyler Polumbus who last season was ranked as the 5th best right tackle, but still there are some concerns about his work ethic and run blocking skills.
