And the football action continues this weekend at Gillette Stadium as the New England Patriots face off the Baltimore Ravens for a clash of AFC conference titans. The New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens have enjoyed more playoff success than all other teams over the last 15 years.

While New England has also been the league’s most dominant home team in the same span, that hasn’t necessarily meant much against Baltimore in the postseason. New England hosts Baltimore in a divisional matchup Saturday as these teams continue what has developed into one of the NFL’s best playoff rivalries in recent memory.

The Patriots (12-4) lead all teams with an 18-8 playoff record since 2000, while Baltimore (11-6) is second at 15-7. Their mirrored success has led to numerous run-ins, and Saturday marks their fourth postseason meeting in six years. The Patriots, who are coming off a first-round bye for the fifth consecutive season, have home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs as they seek their first Super Bowl appearance in three years. They reached the league’s championship game two of the last three times they claimed the conference’s top seed.

Though New England leads the all-time series 8-3, two of its three home playoff losses since 2000 have come in three meetings with Baltimore. source: cbssports.com

On the other hand, the Seahawks announced a several of roster moves on Tuesday, according to the Everett Herald. The team placed defensive tackle Jordan Hill on injured reserve with a calf injury. In a corresponding move, Seattle signed defensive back Steven Terrell off the practice squad to fill Hill’s roster spot. Defensive tackle Jimmy Staten was also signed to the practice squad. Hill played in 13 games, recording 19 tackles, 5.5 sacks and an interception.

The Seahawks will get back a valuable piece of their offensive line when center Max Unger returns from injury during Saturday’s divisional playoff game against the Panthers. Unger has been out since suffering an ankle injury during Week 11’s game against the Chiefs. Despite not playing since Nov. 16, coach Pete Carroll said Unger is in good shape and will play against the Panthers.   source: cbssports.com
