As teams begin to be eliminated from the NFL playoffs, the draft is starting to take shape. For teams like the Oakland Raiders, the opportunity to reach the postseason in the 2014-15 season has come to an end. Oakland, who would currently hold the No. 1 pick, will soon be joined by a number of teams as the playoff race sorts itself out and that means the 2015 NFL Draft order is starting to shape up.
As things currently stand, the Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tennessee Titans would round out the top five. And let´s not forget Green Bay.
The Packers aren’t just winning at home this season. They almost always do that. Instead they’re destroying people. Like the Eagles on Sunday. Philadelphia entered the game 7-2 and flying high after Monday night’s 45-21 demolition of visiting Carolina. But Chip Kelly’s club left Wisconsin looking positively fraudulent, on the wrong end of that 53-20 score, and having offered absolutely nothing in the way of true competition for the Packers.
The New York Jets are likely to make the playoffs this season the team didn’t need elite quarterback play to reach the postseason; they just needed average quarterback play. The defense, an improved cast of offensive weapons (veteran additions included wide receiver Eric Decker and running back Chris Johnson) and the always-creative schemes of Rex Ryan would be enough to carry them to nine or 10 wins and a wild card.
There are only six more weeks left in the 17 week NFL season. That means it’s time to start looking ahead to how the NFL playoffs are shaping up. Since the Philadelphia Eagles play in the NFC, that will be the focus here.
The Eagles’ post-season chances obviously took a hit on Sunday with a blowout loss to the Green Bay Packers. Philadelphia’s loss dropped their record in NFC games to 4-3. The loss also gives Green Bay a head-to-head tiebreaker over the Eagles in the standings. The San Francisco 49ers and the Arizona Cardinals also own head-to-head tiebreakers over Philadelphia. It’s not the most ideal situation for the Birds.
A long story short, the Eagles are still in fairly good position despite the loss to Green Bay. Philadelphia is very much alive in the playoff hunt but they’ll need a strong finish down the stretch, especially in those Dallas games, in order to keep their post-season hopes alive. source: http://www.bleedinggreennation.com/
