The end of the 2013-2014 NBA Regular Season was indeed, no less than spectacular and thrilling as two of the best basketball teams in the NBA history met one more time to determine which was to take the NBA championship trophy home.
Just a few days ago the San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat met at the American Airlines arena in Miami to decide the NBA series. Since the beginning of the series San Antonio seemed as the strongest team headed on the right track until they finally managed to overtake the defending champions at their own home court.
Now that the NBA season is over, many of the teams are looking to trade, hire and renew contracts with different players. So is the case of Phil Jackson and the NY Knicks that are currently talking to sign former Laker, Lamar Odom.
Over the past two season, Lamar Odom has had it rough especially since he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks back in 2011, but all that might be changing quite soon as the Knicks are willing to give him another chance to resurrect his professional career.
Another rumor to take into account is that of the Mavericks pursuing Pau Gasol in the next few days at free agency season. It seems that Gasol´s time with the Lakers is coming to an end as he is heading in a different direction, but he has not yet ruled out the possibility to stay with the Los Angeles team.

Other teams interested in Gasol signing a contract with them are: the Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat, New York Knicks and Houston Rockets.
On a different note, 38-year old Tim Duncan has recently informed the Spurs that he would return for an 18th season next fall, basically this will be the final year of his $10.3 million contract.
Last season, Duncan played a total of 74 games averaging a double-double (15.1 points, 9.7 rebounds) and during the Finals against the Heat he shot 56.9 percent (29-of-51). But, for the upcoming season San Antonio´s Coach Gregg Popovich will keep him on a strict minutes rotation most of the time.
Furthermore, there is a quick review at the most devastating injuries of the 2013-2014 season:
