A week ago the Major League Baseball regular season had a great start at a very unusual place Sidney, Australia, but it unveiled the fact that one of the most watched sports in America will have a great season in 2014.

Host Indians had a solid game and managed to win over the Padres at 2 to 0 in the first game of a doubleheader at Progressive Field. Jason Kipnis hit a 2-run home run and Zach McAllister yielded only 5 hits over 7 2/3 scoreless innings while Ryan Rayburn had 2 hits for the Indians (5-3).

Later on this evening at the AT&T Park in San Francisco, the Giants will face off Arizona Diamondbacks. The betting odds favorite the host with a spread at -1.5  o +100u -110 and a moneyline at -148.

“For everything that happened to him this week, getting hit [in the leg] and getting sick, I thought he had a really nice game,” manager Bruce Bochy said that night.
