2014 NBA Betting Action

There is no doubt the NBA is one of the most exciting men’s sports competition in the world, followed by thousands of sports enthusiasts. The National Basketball Association or NBA was first created in 1946 and throughout the decades the sport has grown to become one of the favorites in Europe, Asia and America.

Last night at the United Center in Chicago the Bulls conquered their third straight victory over the Brooklyn Nets for a final score of 76 to 92.

Chicago managed to lead in the first and last quarter while equaling efforts on the third. Some of the night´s most outstanding players were: Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer posting double-doubles (14 & 13 for Noah, 15 & 10 for Boozer) while Taj Gibson managed to score a total of 16 points.

Very far away from the United Center, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles the Lakers welcomed Oklahoma City Thunder that managed another win over the Californian team. This is the Lakers´ 7th straight loss at home while Oklahoma City (43-12) enters the All-Star break on a 3-game winning streak.

The league’s leading scorer Kevin Durant was just not there and despite pouring 19 points during the 4th quarter; shooting 14-of-33 from the field and six turnovers the Thunder finished with 15 as a team. Additionally, if you are a bookmaker interested in providing your players with some betting action on professional basketball or the NBA here is a list of some facts to take into account:

  • home teams have won 64% of their games when coming off a win in the previous game & 69% of games coming off a win of 10 points or more

  • home teams won 61% of games, but have a 47% record against the betting line when they are favored by 10+ points

  • Visiting teams have won 35% of their games when coming off a loss in the previous game & 33% coming off a loss of 10+ points

  • Visiting teams that were underdogs of 12 points or greater have covered the line 47% of the time when coming off a win in their previous game

This coming weekend the NBA All-star event will take place at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans and both conferences will deliver the best betting action as the East meets the West. It is likely the NBA will extend the All-star break so the players get some rest of their so busy schedules.

“Obviously All-Star Weekend is all about the fans and showcasing our game to the entire world, but it would be nice to get a little break,” “Not saying the all stars are unhappy or ungrateful for being all stars, but to enjoy your family for a couple days would be nice.” the Clippers guard said.
