2014 NCAA Tournament

2014 NCAA Tournament

The NCAA college basketball season has delivered the best action ever and it is now at its peak so let´s take a quick look at this week’s hoops report starting with Syracuse. The Orange team´s  defense zone has been really effective under Coach Boeheim watch becoming one of the currently most dominant and unbeaten teams.

Mike & Mike” that the game is better than ever because of parity. “I think it’s the best place it’s ever been when you consider what’s best for college basketball: a few really strong, dominant teams or a lot of really good teams?” Boeheim said Wednesday.

Last Saturday night, before a Carrier Dome-record crowd of 35,446 the Orange had what many have called the best game of the season with an overwhelming victory over Duke and a final score of 91-89.

On a different note, Wichita State Shockers continue their rise on the national scene and a very likely attendance to the 2014 March Madness tournament this coming March. The Shockers are currently No. 4 in the country, ninth in the RPI, and 12th in the BPI standing alongside Syracuse.

And let´s not forget the Florida State Seminoles who since their first appearance in the NCAA tournament in 1968 have enjoyed modest success. Currently, they are in 4-5 place in the conference, but their recent losses to Virginia (twice), Duke and six of their past 9 games against teams at .500 or with losing records in the league have shadowed their performance. The Seminoles will have to work on more intensity and defense to retain their current position.

Last night in Gainesville NBA prospect freshman Chris Walker returned to the floor not as the best player, but he helped trying to blend in and blocking a few shots during his debut at Florida’s 68-58 victory over Missouri while hours earlier Kentucky managed a win over Ole Miss with a final score of 80-64.
