The 2014 NCAA Division I regular season will start on August 28th ending on December 13th, 2014. The Bowl games will take place from December 20, 2014 – January 12, 2015 and the final Championship Game is scheduled on January 12th, 2015 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

During the 2014 regular season, a new four-team College Football Playoff system will be introduced and it is expected to enhance the old format  in general terms as to push the teams to level up their performances during the regular season.

Most of the college football teams have already made their picks to complete their rosters for the new regular season, but there will always be surprises.So is the case of UConn Huskies leading rusher Lyle McCombs who according to the latest school announcement, he is no longer part of the team.

In 2013 McCombs rushed for 670 yards and five touchdowns plus catching 20 passes for 75 yards and 2 touchdowns. No further details have been released on his departure, but it is important to keep a close eye on who his replacement will be.
