NFL Regular Season Game 1

NFL Regular Season Game 1

The NFL is closer to start this week and the football fans are counting the hours so they can enjoy their favorite sport. Here are some of the predictions for these opening games in week 1.

Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos: The Broncos definitely improved last season, but will these offseason additions, combined with the motivation of not winning a Super Bowl last year, result in the Broncos reaching this ultimate goal this season. They will start this by attaining a win against the Ravens. On the other hand, the Baltimore Ravens are the defending champions and will be looking to have a perfect season starting with their first rival the Denver Broncos.

However, the Ravens have lost some of their key players and it’s probably inevitable that Baltimore will face some difficulties this season. The Broncos, meanwhile, went 13-3 last year and added player Wes Welker. As well they have home field advantage and a great team so everything is against Baltimore. The Denver Broncos are favorites with -8½ points.

New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills: The last time that the Patriots opened against Buffalo was in 2003. In that game they lost 31-0 but then they accomplished 14 victories of their next 15 games and won the Super Bowl. However, who knows the Bills are also coming better this season and will look to beat one of the favorite teams in the NFL.  The Patriots are favorites to win the game with -7 points.

Tennessee Titans at Pittsburgh Steelers: The Steelers went 8-8 last season, and they’re expected to recover this year. They didn’t make a big improvement with free agents, and had some bad luck with injuries, but they are expecting a better season somehow specially with some young acquisition. On the other hand, expectations for Tennessee are unassertive, and the game is in Pittsburgh. The Steelers are favorites to win this game with -6 ½ points.

Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints: Last season, the Falcons went 13-3 and attained the NFC Championship Game. They had a discreet offseason, which is what good teams want. But both Atlanta and New Orleans have significant home field advantages, and everyone expects the Saints to return to form. The New Orleans Saints are the favorites to win the game with -3 points.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New York Jets: New York traded its star cornerback Darrelle Revis to Tampa, so he at least should feel right at home in Week 1. Maybe the Jets know how to attack Revis in ways that other teams don’t, but as long as he’s healthy, there are any weaknesses to attack, and his presence probably fluctuates in Tampa Bay’s favor. Whatever psychological benefit Mark Sanchez derived from discarding Tim Tebow was probably undone by drafting Geno Smith and sending Revis to play against him. Currently Tampa Bay is favorite to win the game with -2 ½ points.

Kansas City Chiefs at Jacksonville Jaguars: Last year, the Chiefs went 2-14 last year, and despite that they’re favorites on the road in Week 1.  While for the Jaguars, many fans thought they don’t have any chance. That’s how odds makers think of the Jags. The Chiefs are favorites to get the victory with -3 points.

Cincinnati Bengals at Chicago Bears: The Bears will take the field without head coach Lovie Smith and LB Brian Urlacher. They have an opportunistic defense, a good all-around running back, and a talented receiver in Brandon Marshall. However, Cincinnati’s defense is actually more solid. The Bengals had a much better draft than the Bears in that area. Andy Dalton and A.J. Green continue to improve, and Andrew Whitworth will make an obvious difference.  As well, two early draft picks, Tyler Eifert and Giovani Bernard, should also upgrade the team, and other young players figure to improve with maturity and experience. However as crazy as it sounds the Bears are favorites with -3.

Miami Dolphins at Cleveland Browns: Both teams have a two second-year quarterback and are two teams that haven’t been good in odds but they both are PK.

The other 8 games will be exciting ones as well, Seattle Seahawks are currently the favorites with -3 ½ versus the Panthers.  The Minnesota Vikings are the underdogs with +3 against the Lions. As well the Raiders are underdogs with +7 versus Colts. Finally the Rams, the 49ers, the Cowboys, the Redskins and the Texans are favorites to win their games.
