The top NFC North team, the Green Bay Packers has had quite a season this year and the Packers are looking pretty strong to lock a place in the 2015 NFL playoffs. Seven teams in the NFC have at least seven victories with four games to play, including the Packers (9-3) and Lions (8-4) in the NFC North, with Green Bay currently tied for the conference’s best mark.

As the Packers study their next rivals; the Falcons, they don’t see a sub-.500 team with the league’s last-ranked defense. They see a team that’s got everything to play for, and that’s all that will matter come Monday night at Lambeau Field.

“We’re expecting their best shot,” quarterback Aaron Rodgers said of the Falcons, who are tied for first in the NFC South despite a 5-7 record that includes two gut-wrenching, last-second defeats.

“They’re fighting for a playoff spot; so are we. We’d like to get to 10 wins before we start talking about the ‘p’ word, so we’ll hopefully get that done this week.” source:

When the Green Bay Packers (9-3) host the Atlanta Falcons (5-7) at Lambeau Field on Monday Night Football at 8:30 p.m. ET, McCarthy’s squad should be rested, relaxed and ready to lay down another home beatdown.

On a different note, the NFC South leading team is the Atlanta Falcons and Saints, each with their own 5-7 record. The team is widely derided as a flat-out joke by many national pundits regardless of their recent record.

The end of the season will be an exciting race between these two teams that could go either way. However, it shouldn’t even be a close race to the finish, the Falcons should have all but locked up this division by now. Missed opportunities and bad losses from earlier in the season could potentially cost the Atlanta Falcons a playoff berth and a home game on wildcard weekend.
