The Atlanta Falcons were first established 50 decades ago as a professional football team headquartered Flowery Branch, Georgia. The Falcons are current members of the South Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in Atlanta, Georgia.

It was in 1965 when the Falcons franchise joined the NFL, but the team has played its home games as Georgia Dome tenants since 1992 as for the previous 30 years the Falcons played at the Atlanta Stadium.

Over these past decades since the Falcons joined the NFL the team has achieved one Conference championship, 5 Division championships, 12 Playoff appearances during the following years: 1978, 1980, 1982, 1991, 1995, 1998, 2002, 2004, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 and one Super Bowl appearance in 1998 at Super Bowl XXXIII.

  • 87 Claude Humphrey, DE, played for team from 1968-1978, inducted in 2014

  • 56 Chris Doleman, DE, played for team in 1994 and 1995
  • Norm Van Brocklin, head coach from 1968–1974

The 2014 Falcons Training Camp at Flowery Branch headquarters will be taking place  from July 25–August 12, the team will have a total of 34 sessions, including walk throughs and practices. These practices include friendly games with the Tennessee Titans on Monday, August 4 and  the Texans on Wednesday, August 13 and Thursday, August 14.
