The Miami Dolphins is a professional football team from the Miami metropolitan area and the Dolphins were founded in 1966 with its headquarters located at the Miami Dolphins Training facility in Davie, Florida.

In the early 1970s the Dolphins joined the NFL when the AFL–NFL merger took place. Over the decades the Miami team have managed to win 2 League championships, 5 Conference championships in the following years: 1971, 1972, 1973, 1982, 1984 and 2 Super Bowl Championships in 1972 and 1973.

Additionally, the Dolphins won 13 Division championships and 22 Playoff appearances. The team´s golden era was in the early 70s when they managed to reach the AFC Championship for 3 consecutive seasons.

The Sun Life Stadium located in Miami Gardens, Florida is where the Dolphins currently play their home football games, the stadium has a capacity of 80,000 spectators.

Throughout the Dolphins´history there is a player who people described as the quarterback that leveled up the game of football; his name was Dan Marino. From 1983 to 1999, Marino played a key role in all Dolphins´season by breaking his own career records and being named MVP several years on a row.
