The San Francisco 49ers is a professional football team of the NFL located in the San Francisco area first established in 1946. They are currently headquartered at the Marie P. DeBartolo Sports Center in Santa Clara, California.

The 49ers play their home games at the Levi’s Stadium which has a capacity for 68,983 spectators (expandable to 75,000). Here is a quick link on how to arrive at the stadium: http://www.levisstadium.com/getting-here/directions/

The early years of the San Francisco 49ers were very smooth as one of the first teams from the Western part of the United States along with the Cleveland Rams that move to the area in the year 1946.

One of the most successful years of the San Francisco 49ers was in 1957, but that year also brought sadness to the team as their general manager died of a heart attack right on the field. Throughout their history the team has managed to win the following: 5 League championships, 5 Super Bowl Championships in 1981 (XVI), 1984 (XIX), 1988 (XXIII), 1989 (XXIV), 1994 (XXIX), 6 Conference championships, 4 Division championships and 26 Playoff appearances.

Over the last decades, the 49ers have developed three main rivalries with the following teams: the Arizona Cardinals — the 49ers currently hold the edge over Arizona all-time 26–17.

The St. Louis Rams with an all-time regular-season lead held by the 49ers at 64–62–3 and the Seattle Seahawks who currently lead the all-time series at 16–15. And in recent years, an intense crosstown rivalry with the Oakland Raiders.
