As we all know this is the last week of the 2014 NFL preseason and Thursday night will be a night full of professional football action with approximately 16 games. One of the night’s highlights will be taking place at MetLife Stadium when the New York Giants welcome the New England Patriots.
The Giants winning streak is just outstanding, the team has won 4 out of 4 preseason games and their performances have been very solid with a wise strategic planning. Last week the Giants met the NY Jets in the Snoopy Bowl and once again t the Giants’ victory gave them bragging rights over their stadium co-inhabitants in the MetLife Bowl.

Thursday night game is the last preseason game for both teams, but the Giants have played an extra game in the Hall of Fame Game on August 3d against the Buffalo Bills. On a different note, the Giants released 24-year-old DB Charles James despite having one of the best training camp amongst corner backs.
“Charles James has the heart of a lion and is exactly what any organization should have on their team.” “In this league you witness many things,” Giants players Antrel Rolle wrote. “Something you agree with and some you don’t but no matter what you have to keep fighting and keep driving to be the player you can be and the best teammate you can be. BUT THIS ONE HURTS!
Furthermore, New England seems to be putting all the pieces together as they have managed to win their last two games over Philadelphia Eagles and Carolina Panthers. For the Giants´clash, the Patriots reportedly stating they will start rookieJimmy Garoppolo in their final preseason game and that he is expected to play the majority of the game and possibly all of it which leaves backup Ryan Mallett in the middle of a maelstrom of trade rumor and roster speculation.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter is also reporting that the team has yet to decide who the No. 2 QB will be for the game. The move leaves Mallett, who spent much of the offseason as the subject of trade rumors, in a curious position on the Patriots roster.

Another great clash we will witness on Thursday night at Lincoln Financial Field will be the one between NY Jets @ Philadelphia Eagles as host team. This game marks the return of Michael Vick to Philadelphia, and with Geno Smith expected to be the team’s starter for 2014, Vick will be starting this game as the second quarterback on the depth chart. The Eagles will mostly be using this as a final opportunity to see which players on the bubble deserve roster spots.
Some of the most recent betting odds on the game stand at:
NY Jets +2.5 43.5o
Philadelphia Eagles -2.5 43.5u
