The Honda Indy 200 race is part of the US Formula 5000 series since its early beginnings in 1970. The race consists of a 90-lap ran of natural-terrain that offers elevation changes, flowing corners, speed corners and a narrow challenging entry to pit lane.

The Honda Indy 200 race takes place at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for a distance of 203.22 miles or 327.05 kilometers and this year the action will happen on Sunday August 3rd; where defending champion American Charles Kimball is amongst the top 3 leading drivers (Simon Pagenaud, Dario Franchitti)  to win the race.

We are still a week and a half away from the race, but the drivers are getting ready at the Honda Indy 200 practices to improve on their timing and qualifying positions. So is the case of driver James Hinchcliffe who finished 5th just behind leader Simon Pagenaud.

Pagenaud´s time was of 1:00.0084 at the 11-turn while Hinchcliffe was fifth-fastest through the second practice with a posted time of 1:00.937

“The car was hard to handle, on the pit road after exiting the race car. It was hard to get the right set-up here last year and we are seeing that again this year. We were less than a second off the pace yet it’s really hard work out there trying to get that faster lap. With all the surface changes it is really hard to nail the set up. It’s just the grip level through the top half of the track — through Turns 8, 9, 10 and 11 — is a real problem.” said Hinchcliffe.
