WEEK 6 INJURIES 2014

WEEK 6 INJURIES 2014

The following is a quick view at what is going on in the NFL locker rooms powerhouses as the WEEK 6 of football action wraps up on Monday Night.

Darren Sproles suffered a left knee injury against the Giants. Sproles was able to walk off under his own power, but the Eagles team doctor was “concerned after they tested the stability of his ACL and MCL.” With Chris Polk also injured, the Eagles have no depth behind LeSean McCoy at the moment.

Stevan Ridley had to leave the Bills game with a knee injury and was immediately ruled out. He will have an MRI Monday to get a firm diagnosis, but multiple media outlets are reporting that he suffered a significant injury. Brandon Bolden would most likely take on his role as the early down back while Shane Vereen would continue to be the passing down back, but could see a bump in usage.

Eddie Royal left Sunday’s game at Oakland with a rib injury.  At this point the extent of his injury is unknown.  Seyi Ajirotutu replaced him in three-receiver sets and Ladarius Green was playing more in two-tight end sets after Royal was forced from the game.

Theo Riddick was forced from the Lions’ game against the Vikings after aggravating his hamstring injury. Riddick missed last week’s game with a hamstring injury as well and it continues to linger. He had a nice game before he went down, catching five passes for 75 yards and a touchdown, but with Reggie Bush most likely back next week, it might be a good idea to try to get his hamstring back to 100% by resting him, especially with Bush getting nicked up and Joique Bell suffering a concussion two weeks ago.

Cordarrelle Patterson (hip) said he was not 100 percent during the Vikings loss to the Lions.  He was listed as probable, but wasn’t healthy enough to play a full complement of snaps. Hopefully he’ll be back to full health soon and he can break out of his tremendous slump.

Giovani Bernard was forced from the game against the Panthers with a right shoulder injury but later returned late in the fourth quarter. He was in the locker room for about 30 minutes, but thankfully he returned in overtime and looks to have avoided a significant injury.

Fozzy Whittaker aggravated his quad injury during Sunday’s tie with the Bengals, but didn’t seem too concerned, saying he would play Week 7.

A.J. Green doesn’t believe he will be able to go next week against the Colts. His toe injury isn’t a tear, but must be fairly severe if he is worried about playing next week. He will see a doctor on Friday and maybe we will learn more then.

Victor Cruz suffered the knee injury after dropping a two-yard touchdown in the back of the end-zone. This injury will most likely end his season. Odell Beckham should gain significantly in fantasy and is a must pickup if available, while Rueben Randle would become a bigger factor than he already is.
