The future of the Dallas Cowboys – opinions and predictions

The future doesn’t look too optimistic for the Dallas Cowboys if any go by the opinions of NFL analysts. NFL future power ranking have the Cowboys positioned in the24th place with a low record. However, most of the Cowboys’ fans have faith that this year will be different as new acquisition players and old ones can make a difference.

The Cowboys haven’t had a playoff victory since 1997, there continual inability to finish out a season or doubtful draft picks has not been able to live up to the standard of excellence set by the team.

For last season 2012, the Cowboys ended with the same total record  of 8-8 from 2011 season, and missed the playoffs for a third consecutive season after losing their final game for the second straight season, this time against the Washington Redskins.

However, for this season 2013-2014 the Cowboys are expecting the best of the sixth round picks who are projected to bring high energy and effort and talent which is not yet exploited. Besides those picks the Cowboys have some players that must exceed expectations this season for the team.

Travis Frederick is the first key player for the Cowboys in the offense. Despite that coaching staff are unclear of whether he will play guard or center, he is going to surprise many and will serve as a crucial piece to an offensive line that has forced Tony Romo to rise far more than he would like.

On the other hand, in order for the Cowboys to be effective on the ground, Murray must stay healthy and produce the numbers he has produced in his first two years. Though with new defense coordinator Monty Kiffin starting this 2013 season, Dallas is looking to improve the defense by having Church, who could need to adapt to the new system in order to help. Whereas, Jeremy Parnell will be also a great asset for the Cowboys if he does his work and play his best.

Finally another key player that Dallas needs is quarterback Tony Romo, who despite his questionable throws and high interception totals last season have been among the greatest asset for the team. Romo must hope the he can finally lead the Dallas Cowboys to a Super Bowl victory, as that is likely the only way he is able to silence the critics who have been so hard on him for some time now.

As you can see, the Cowboys need all what we mention before to have a shot this 2013 season. Dallas really needs to stop the long ball and improve their offense if they want to succeed.

Currently, the bettors at have the Cowboys with an odd of +3500(35 to 1) to win the Super bowl, whereas the odds to winning the NFC Championships  have them at +2000.
