Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Fabricio Werdum
If you like MMA’s top-ranked heavyweights, then you will enjoy UFC’s next main event on June 8th live from Brazil. The legendary Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Fabricio Werdum will meet in the Octagon in a rematch from Pride in 2006 at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan, where Nogueira won by an unanimous decision.
Nogueira has an overall record of 34-7-1-1 and on his last fight he was able to defeat Dave Herman via submission in the first round.
Brazilian mixed martial artist Werdum, who is considered the greatest submission artist in the division, has a record of 5-1 in his last six fights, including a knockout victory over Mike Russow in the UFC 147 event.
Werdum is considered one of the best and is the favorite on the UFC betting predictions at -300, while underdog Nogueira is listed at +250 despite his solid boxing and great Jiu-Jitsu skills.
Rashad Evans vs. Dan Henderson
The former Strikeforce Light-Heavyweight champion, Dan Henderson, will look to knockout Rashad Evans in the main event of UFC 161 at MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada, on June 15th, 2013. Both fighters are coming off losses, but Evans is the favorite on the UFC betting lines to win at -120.
Evans has only been knocked out once in his mixed martial arts career, against former Ultimate Fighting Championship 205-pound champion Lyoto Machida back at UFC 98. However, he has dropped two straight decisions to Jon Jones at UFC 145 and most recently to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 156.
On the other hand, Henderson has a 29-9-0 record with a four-fight win streak that includes his legendary win over Mauricio Rua at UFC 139. Henderson has never been knocked out in his career and has won 11 fights via the knockout.
Another fact to consider is that in 21 fights, Evans has submitted one person at the beginning of his career, while Henderson has been submitted three times but never submitted anyone.
Demetrious Johnson vs. John Moraga
John Moraga challenges Demetrious Johnson for the flyweight belt at UFC on FOX 8 event, which will take place on July 27th at Seattle’s KeyArena.
Moraga’s two UFC wins have come by stoppage, including a submission win over Chris Cariaso and a knockout victory over Ulysses Gomez. Meanwhile, Johnson’s three flyweight wins were all by decision, and he has just one stoppage win in seven total victories under the ZUFFA banner.
After defeating Joseph Benavidez, Johnson defended his belt against top contender John Dodson, adding a record of 17-2-1 with three consecutive victories, while Moraga has an MMA record of 12-1-0 and has won both of his UFC fights against Ulysses Gomez at UFC on FOX 4, and won Submission of the Night honors after defeating Chris Cariaso at UFC 155.
Anderson Silva vs. Chris Weidman
UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva returns to the Octagon on Saturday June 6th at the MGM Grand Garden to face the No. 1-ranked contender Chris Weidman, at UFC162. Weidman has a record of 9-0 in four years as a professional fighter, but has much less experience than the champion Silva, with an overall record of 33-4-0.
In addition, Chris Weidman will have been off for nearly a year when he steps into the Octagon in Las Vegas. His last fight was a second-round knockout win over Mark Munoz on July 11th, 2012.
According to the odds, Silva will enter the fight as -280 favorite over Weidman, who currently is as a +220 underdog. Silva has successfully defended his belt 10 times since defeating Rich Franklin in October 2006.
Jose Aldo vs. Anthony Pettis
The UFC 163 takes place on Saturday August 3rd, 2013 at the HSBC Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Featherweight champion Jose Aldo defends his belt against top lightweight contender Anthony Pettis in the night’s main event.
Both fighters are fast, versatile strikers and have very strong ground game. Pettis has a record of 14-2, but if you like to bet on martial arts you must consider that Jose Aldo hasn’t tasted defeat since 2005, riding a 15-fight winning streak that includes victories over Urijah Faber, Cub Swanson, Frankie Edgar, Chad Mendes and Kenny Florian. (22-1)
